Lucky Quarter

'Lucky Quarter' is a story from the collection of stories 'Everything is Possible' by Stephen King. Darlene Pullen is a single mother. She has two children: a teenage daughter and a little son. Darlene works as a maid in one hotel. But this work doesn't bring enough money. One day she finds an envelope with a tip in one of the rooms. There is a quarter inside. There is also a note: 'This is a lucky quarter! It is true! Lucky you!' Such a tip looks like a mockery. Darlene bitterly thinks that her daughter needs braces for her teeth. Her son dreams of a video game system. It is lunchtime. Darlene is walking past the slot machine in the lobby. She drops the coin into the machine and wins. Does this quarter really bring good luck?
